Hello, my name is Natalia Gonzales! I am originally from Brazil and have been living in Fredericton since 2016. I graduated in Animal Science in 2013, completed a Master’s Degree in Plant Science in 2016, and worked in the agriculture field for almost 7 years. Although I enjoyed working in that field, I knew something was missing. After I had my son in 2020, I decided to follow my passion for working with children and started my journey as an Early Childhood Educator. I am currently completing my ECE Diploma at NBCC and applying all the knowledge I have been gaining through the program on my daily work with the children.
Observing children, understanding their needs and interests, following up on their curiosity by developing learning invitations, and documenting their findings and learnings, are some of my favourite things to do as an educator.
I spend a lot of my free time outdoors, and my background in animal and plant science encourages me to explore and respect nature. It is very important to me to share these values with the children and to ensure they have a great experience exploring the natural environment.
Outside of teaching, I love spending time with my family and friends, playing with my two cats Zanzi and Lolita, hiking, exploring nature, travelling, visiting farms, listening to music, baking, trying new foods, painting, and working on DIY home renovations.
